The Young AFCEAns (also fondly known as YACs) are AFCEA (The Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association) members under the age of 40. In order to more closely identify with the needs and interests of its younger members, AFCEA designated YACs as a distinct unit within the AFCEA organization. Young AFCEAns are represented on the local AFCEA Aberdeen Leadership Team (Nicholas Lattanzi and Alyssa Ranson). Just like their fellow AFCEA members, Young AFCEAns network with fellow professionals and participate in the normal activities of the chapter.
We are establishing the Sports & Social Club with the goal to provide Young AFCEAns the opportunity to network with professionals and participate in activities in a laid back and fun atmosphere. The initial launch of the Sports & Social Club will be the establishment of a Kickball league this spring. We anticipate additional activities throughout the year to possibly include Flag Football, Softball, or other activities of interest by our YACs.
We are looking for Chapter Sponsorships for each team. Each team will be company sponsored for a fee that will cover fields, refs, and equipment costs as well as a small donation toward the AFCEA Aberdeen Chapter. Sponsor company name will also be your team name and will be displayed on your team’s t-shirt. T-shirts will be ordered for you and will be an additional cost per person on the team. Each sponsor is free to decide the make-up of their team at a minimum of 9 players to a team.
We will have a kickoff Happy Hour at a local Harford County establishment that will be
sponsoring our Spring Kickball league with after-game specials. Team sign-ups will also take place at this time. Non-members are welcome to join a team.
