Location: Waters Edge Events Center
Date: September 23, 2014

Our September 23, 2014 luncheon will include a technical workshop entitled Mission Command Modernization--Simplified and Reliable Network (STARnet). PEO C3T key staff will discuss the technical pathway as the Army continues to modernize its tactical network to support Infantry, Stryker and Armored Brigade Combat Teams. This technical seminar will expand on PEO C3T capability needs and technology focus for FY16-20 in support of Force 2025 efforts. The Network Modernization Roadmap synchronizes operational priorities for versatility, mobility and security with technology imperatives and Program of Record (POR) objectives. A choice of technical breakout sessions focusing on Mission Command, Network and Radio Waveform development will also be offered.  It is recommended that both business development and technical staff attend this seminar.  A full agenda will follow shortly, but the event is expected to start with registration and networking at 1100, and end at 1630.  Registration is now open.

NOTE:  This event replaces the previously scheduled Sept 17 Luncheon.

We expect this to be a popular event, and encourage you to register early. Also, to avoid long lines on site, please complete payment online during registration.

5K Run / 1 Mile Walk for STEM

Location: Ma and Pa Trail, Bel Air, Maryland
Date: November 8, 2014

We invite you to support the Harford County community through participation and sponsorship of the third annual Young Armed Forces Communication Electronics Association (AFCEA) 5K Run, 1 Mile Walk, and Kids Fun Run which will be held at the Ma and Pa trail in Bel Air, Maryland on November 8th, 2014.

This event, hosted by the Aberdeen Chapter of Young AFCEA, is the Chapter’s largest fundraiser of the year with proceeds going towards science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) initiatives in Harford County. Now more than ever, it is important for students to have access to educational experiences that generate interest and enhance ability in the STEM disciplines.

The Young AFCEA Aberdeen Chapter has selected to donate proceeds raised from the Young AFCEA 5k Run and 1 Mile Walk to Edgewood Middle School’s FIRST LEGO League (FLL).  The FLL inspires future scientists and engineers to get excited about science and technology. Students research real-world challenges faced by Scientists to design, build and program autonomous robots and participate in FLL competitions to present their solutions to a panel of judges. Proceeds from this program will benefit students participating in this year’s FLL competition and could sponsor up to 4 teams from Edgewood Middle School to participate. The contributions will also go towards new equipment to allow the teams to independently program, research and design robots.
