The AFCEA Aberdeen Chapter STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) initiative for Harford County Public Schools is focused in four main areas: Scholarships, Tools, Equipment and Mentors:

Scholarships – scholarships ($2,000 - $5,000) for teachers to maintain technical currency in their traditional STEM field
Tools – funds/training in tools (e.g. software) to enhance student learning
Equipment – funds/training for new equipment to continue to allow students to explore
Mentors – SAIC technical personnel serving as mentors to assist teachers and students
